Even though you’re a leader, you’re also a follower. And an important part of being a good follower is to show support for those who lead you well.
While there may not be a direct reporting relationship, the people who mentor and sponsor you are worth their weight in gold. Even though most never ask anything in return, it’s important to make it a two-way street.

Not only does she give me feedback as a Millenial on new content I’m developing, she has also introduced me to a new client who was looking for an executive coach with C-level experience. This led to a series of business engagements, and made the mentoring relationship truly a win-win.
